Not Just Chicken Feed...
Small & Specialty Poultry Flocks Feeding Guide


  • Feeds are formulated to meet university and breed guidelines.
  • All feeds are crumbled or pelleted.
  • When possible, program combines feeding recommendations for like-type species. Simplifies and minimizes inventory.
  • PrimaLac, a direct fed microbial, as well as acoccidostat, are added to selected feeds for the prevention of disease and stress.
  • All feeds are readily available to any dealer/customer in the SSC operating territory.
  • Feeds labeled "All Grain" are vegetarian formulated poultry feeds.
Small & Specialty Poultry Flocks Feeding Program
Pullets, Layers & Breeders
Purpose: White and/or Brown Egg Production
Hatch - 16 weeks Chick Start-N-Grow (Medicated)
16 weeks throughout All Grain Poultry egg production cycle Layer/Breeder or SuperBreeder
Broilers and Turkeys
Purpose: For starting and growing broilers and turkeys for meat production
Broilers:
Hatch - 5 weeks
Chick Start-N-Grow (Medicated)
5 weeks - market weight All Grain Poultry Grow-N-Finish
Turkeys:
Hatch - 5 weeks
Sporting Bird Starter (Medicated)
5 weeks - 10 weeks Sporting Bird Flight Developer (Medicated)
10 week - market weight All Grain Poultry Grow-N-Finish
Gamebirds (Quail, Chukar, Pheasant)
Purpose: For growing hunting preserve release birds
Hatch - 8 weeks Sporting Bird Starter (Medicated)
Note: Hand-feed twice daily the bag Sporting Bird Starter (Med.) from Hatch through 1 week of age to insure starting gamebirds can adequately consume feed crumbles and prevent the possibility of starve-outs.
8 weeks - release Sporting Bird Flight Developer (Medicated)
Note: Pheasants can be switched to All-Grain Poultry Maintainer at 16 week until release
Breeders (during egg production) Super Breeder
Breeders (out of breeding season) All Grain Poultry Maintainer
Gamefowls and Bantams
Purpose: For growing and maintaining fancy and show breeds

4 weeks - maturity 18% Floating Waterfowl or All Grain Poultry Grow-N-Finish or Rock-N-Rooster Booster Pellets

Ratities (Ostrich and Emus)
Hatch - 3 weeks All Grain Poultry Starter or fresh vegetables mixed with Ostrich Grow-N-Finish

Supplements
Purpose: For mixing complete feeds or adding additional nutrients to the diet.
Commercial 40% Supplement Contains protein, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients which can be mixed with grain to make a complete poultry feed(s). See tag for specific mixing instructions.
Scratch Grains (2-grain, 3-grain, 5-grain scratch options are available) Grain blends which provide supplemental energy for weight gain and body maintenance.
